Garda vetting takes weeks to be processed.

Completed applications are processed within 5 working days of receipt of the application.

We gave a commitment to process 80% of applications within 5 working days of receipt of the application and we are currently completing over 80% of applications within those 5 working days. 

So as soon as I complete my online eVetting application I should have my Garda vetting completed within 5 working days.

When you complete your application it must first of all go to the Liaison Person within the relevant organisation to be checked before the Liaison Person forwards the application to the Garda National Vetting Bureau. On receipt of the application in the G.N.V.B. the 5 working days timeframe begins. 

There is no way of tracking my application.

You can track the progress of your online eVetting application here. You will require your unique application number and your date of birth to access the tracking facility.

The Garda National Vetting Bureau issue all application forms for Garda vetting.

It is the Relevant Organisation that forwards the appropriate Garda vetting invitation forms to persons required to be Garda vetted.

I am in another country so I cannot complete a Garda vetting application.

You can complete a Garda vetting application from anywhere in the world.  The Garda vetting online eVetting system has been accessed from over 200 countries to date.

As a registered organisation we can do a blanket Garda vetting of all personnel regardless of their role.

The Act does not provide a legal power to request vetting details in regard to any person unless that person is conducting Relevant Work as defined by the Act.

I cannot complete my Garda vetting appliction as I don’t know Eircodes for any of my addresses.

Currently we do not require an Eircode for any address in the Republic of Ireland and omitting the Eircode will not affect your Garda vetting application.
