Aggravated Burglary at Killiney Hill, Co.Dublin on the 4/4/12

The Gardaí at Shankill are investigating an Aggravated Burglary that occurred at a family home in Killiney Hill on Wednesday, the 4th April 2012 at 9.40pm.


A mother and two of her daughters aged six and two were at home for the evening.  The woman had just filled a bath for her six year old daughter while the youngest was asleep in her mother’s bed.  The woman let her dogs out the front door and was confronted by two masked men in her hallway.  They threatened the woman and demanded to know where the safe was.  The woman pleaded with them.  One of the raiders stood over the woman, while the second man searched the house.  They took turns searching and continued to make threats, demanding money and jewellery.  They ransacked the house for almost two hours.  The men took a number of items of jewellery, together with mobile phones and cash.


Eventually they made their getaway in the woman’s green Landrover jeep partial registration number 06D.  They stole valuable jewellery, a large quantity of cash in US Dollars, three phones and the CCTV hard drive.  They also damaged to phone lines.  They abandoned the jeep minutes later in Coundon Court, Killiney.


Description of Raiders:


Raider 1: Five Foot Ten inches in height, slim build, wearing dark woollen hat, dark coloured scarf covering his mouth, Dark hoody top, plain navy tracksuit bottoms, green and beige gardening gloves and spoke with a Dublin accent.

Raider 2:  Five Foot Ten inches in height, slim build, wearing dark woollen hat, dark scarf, red hoody with baggy navy tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down each leg, dirty plain white runners, dark gloves and spoke with a Dublin accent.


Appeal:

• Any suspicious sightings in the area in the weeks before this incident.

• Anybody in the area on the night of the 4th April between 9pm and 11pm.

• The raiders abandoned the Landrover nearby, did anyone witness suspicious activity at Coundon Court.
