Aggravated Burglary in Killiney,

The Gardaí at Cabinteely Garda Station are investigating an aggravated burglary at Brackenbush Park, Killiney, Co. Dublin on Sunday, the 8th January 2012.


At approximately 6.40am the residents at this house heard a noise in the front garden, one of the residents looked out a window and saw two males interfering with their cars parked in the driveway.  Two of the occupants ran out to the garden and an altercation occurred between them, the two males had broken into the shed and used implements they found there to threaten the two residents.  The two males escaped in the injured party’s white Renault Megane registration number 10C12886.  This car was recovered 48 hours later at Woodlawn Park Avenue in Firhouse

The Gardaí at Ennis Garda Station are investigating a Burglary at a warehouse on Thursday, the 3rd November 2011.


Earlier in the evening a White Man box van registration number 01G10356 was stolen from an industrial estate in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, the keys for this vehicle were stolen during a burglary two weeks previous.


The van travelled through the M50 Toll at 20.13, then through the toll at Portlaoise before arriving at Quinn Road in Ennis.


Shorty after 11.30pm the van arrived at Doora Industrial Estate and the passenger unlocked the gate and entered the premises, they drove into the yard and activated the alarm.  They left the yard then to see if the alarm activation alerted the owner, they returned a couple of minutes later, the main gates were locked by an employee from another company who was leaving the yard.  The raiders rammed the main gates and the front of the premises, causing extensive damage to the roller shutter.  The raiders cut the power cables, however the external alarm activated and notified the owner who made his was to his premises, the raiders fled colliding with the owner’s vehicle.  The raiders were pursued to Bridgetown before making their getaway.

The Gardaí at Togher Garda Station are investigating an armed robbery of a Cash in Transit van that occurred on Wednesday, the 11th January 2012 at 4.15pm.


A cash in transit van commenced a delivery to an AT.M located at a filling station at Carr’s Hill, Carrigaline.  Three armed men approached the security guards, threatened them with shotguns and demanded they hand over the cash.


The three men then ran to a black Saab car which was fitted with cloned registration plates 04C23265, which travelled in the direction of Cork city.  This vehicle turned left off the N28 and headed back towards Ballinrea Cross, they turned onto the R618 passing Fivemile Bridge and Ballinhassig.  The Saab travelled at speed with a blue light flashing on the dash board.  The Saab then continued to Ballinora Waterfall, Co. Cork where it was abandoned and set on fire in the grounds of at the back of a GAA club.


A short time earlier a woman visiting a grave at the local cemetery in Ballinora observed a man standing beside a large dark saloon type car whilst speaking on a mobile phone.  He appeared agitated.  A few minutes later as the young woman was walking away from the cemetery she observed a Fire truck arriving at the GAA Grounds where the Saab was set alight.


Appeal:

• The Saab as stolen during a burglary at a house in Garry Duff in Douglas, Cork City on the 3rd November 2011.  The registration number is 05C8017.

• This vehicle was fitted was fitted with cloned plates registration number 04C23265.

• Gardaí are appealing for any sightings of this vehicle between the 3rd November and the 11th January 2012.

• Gardaí appeal to anyone who may have made the cloned registration plates.

• Any sightings of the Saab and the raiders on the day of the robbery.

• Any sightings of this vehicle travelling through Carr’s Hill to Ballinora.

• The transfer from the Saab at Ballinora to a waiting car, Gardaí appeal to anyone who may have seen the raiders here to come forward.

The Gardaí at Coolock Garda Station are investigating a cash in transit robbery that occurred on Thursday, the 19th of January 2012.


At approximately 9.53am the cash in transit employees commenced the delivery to an ATM in Donaghmede Shopping Centre.


Approximately eight minutes later at 10.05am two masked and armed men got out of a Nissan X-Trail that was parked close to the security van, this jeep had drove into the shopping centre at 9.40am., two masked and armed men ran from the jeep and threatened the security staff.  They fled the scene taking the cash boxes.  The Nissan X-Trail jeep bearing false plates was recovered in Howth View Park.  The correct registration for this vehicle is 06D37701, it was stolen during a burglary in Blanchardstown on the 10th December 2011.  A witness recalls seeing a silver transit sized van with roof bars on Clonrosse Drive, a short time after this he discovered an ink cartridge under a parked car.

Bobby Ryan

The Gardaí at Tipperary Town Garda Station are investigating the disappearance of local man Bobby Ryan who was reported missing on Friday, the 3rd June 2011.


On Thursday, the 2nd June 2011 he left his home in Boherlahan near Cashel and travelled to Fawnagowan, Bansha Road, Tipperary to stay with his girlfriend.  At approximately 6.30am on Friday morning Bobby left Fawnagowan to return home to Boherlahan to get ready for work at Killough Quarry near Thurles, Co. Tipperary.  He failed to turn up for work and colleagues contacted his son and daughter.  His son noticed his work clothes and boots were still at home.


At 2.30pm Bobby’s silver coloured Citroen van was discovered parked at a car park at Kilshane Woods, Bansha, Tipperary, which is an amenity area for walkers using the local woodlands.  A man matching his description was seen walking along a country road at Cordangan, Tipperary Town at approximately 8.50am on Friday, the 3rd June, the morning he went missing.


Bobby Ryan's family are concerned for his safety as he has not contacted family or friends since Friday morning, the 3rd June 2011.


Bobby Ryan is 52 years of age.  He is described as 14st, 5'2", bald with hazel eyes.  When last seen he wearing a navy polo t-shirt, navy tracksuit bottoms, navy jumper and white runners.  He was well known in the area, he drove a truck for a local quarry and worked as a DJ in the area, known as Mr Moonlight


Bobby Ryan's family are very concerned for his safety as he has not contacted family or friends since Friday morning, the 3rd June  2011.


Appeal:

• Anyone who was in the area on Friday morning the 3rd June and may have seen Bobby’s van around Tipperary Town or Fawnagowan area.

• Anyone who was in the Annacarty & Dundrum Road area who may have seen Bobby’s van in the area.

• Any person who was walking in Bansha woods who may have seen Bobby to come forward.

• It was the June Bank Holiday weekend, Gardaí appeal to anyone who was in the Tipperary Town area for the weekend and may have seen Bobby.

• Anyone who saw Bobby on the Thursday night the 2nd of June travelling from Boherlahann to Fawnagowan to come forward.

• A witness in the woods recalls seeing a maroon saloon car at 8.10am on the morning Bobby went missing at the same time as he saw a van similar to Bobby’s Citroen van. Gardaí appeal to the driver of that maroon car to come forward.

Seamus McMahon

The Gardaí at Dundalk Garda Station are investigating the murder of Seamus McMahon (DOB 15/09/1968).


On Sunday evening, the 21st March 2010 Seamus McMahon was visiting a friend’s house at Bothar Chroinn, Saltown in Dundalk.  Two men entered the house through an unlocked front door and shot Seamus.  They ran to Bellewsbridge Road where a getaway car was waiting for them and drove in the direction of Toberona / Fatima area. Seamus McMahon was pronounced dead a short time later.


The investigation is at an advance stage and there have been arrests made.  Seamus sister was in studio and made a family appeal for anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
