Murder of Paul Kavanagh, Drumcondra, Dublin on the 26/3/15

The Gardaí at Ballymun Garda Station are appealing for information in relation to the murder of twenty six year old Paul Kavanagh on Thursday 26th March 2015 at Church Avenue, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

Paul was moving his partner’s car outside their home into a parking space on Church Avenue near “All Hallows” college, when his car was struck from behind by a white Audi A1 registration number 142D4628, forcing it forward and into the wall. A man wearing a black balaclava and a black bomber style jacket appeared on the road in front of Paul’s car and discharged a number of shots into his car. Paul attempted to reverse the car but collided with the Audi car. Another man appeared from this car. Paul was fatally wounded. The two suspects walked away from the scene and towards Ormond Road and turned into a laneway leading out to Clonturk Gardens and Clonturk Park.

• The Audi A1 car (white in colour with a black roof) was stolen on Wednesday 11th March 2015 from Palmerstown, Dublin 20. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information about the whereabouts of this car between 11th March 2015 and the 26th March 2015.

• Did you see anything on Church Avenue, Ormond Road or Clonturk area that morning?

• Gardaí are looking for the owner of a white box van, a Peugeot Berlingo or similar to a Volkswagen Caddy.
