Gardaí at Trim Garda Station are appealing for information in relation to a number of incidents in the Trim area on the 4th January 2014.

At about 7.25pm in the Abbey View area of Trim, a resident was at home watching the television. His security camera was activated in his garden and he saw a male walking towards his house. This male made his way to the back of this house and attempted to gain entry via the patio door, but was unsuccessful and left.

A short time later at another private residence nearby at Boycetown, Kiltale, a family were settling their children into bed for the evening. The mother was upstairs with her children and heard a noise at the back door, she alerted her husband who was downstairs to investigate this. The husband was met by a male brandishing a knife in the kitchen. This male threatened the husband and a struggle ensued. The male fled taking some property with him. The husband chased after him and got into his car but lost sight of the man.
