Robbery from a Bookmakers in Ennis, Co. Clare on the 28/4/12

The Gardaí at Ennis Garda Station are investigating a Robbery from a bookmakers on Turnpike, Ennis, Co. Clare on Saturday, the 28th April 2012.


Shortly after 7.30pm two masked and armed raiders entered the bookmakers.  The first male made his way towards the counter armed with a knife.  He threatened a member of staff and jumped over the counter.  He told the staff member to open the safe.  He removed a quantity of cash from the safe, however, a different section of the safe was on time lock.  He placed the money into a black bag.  The second male remained at the door.  He was armed with a sawn off shotgun.  The two males fled the scene and made their getaway in a silver Audi A5 the bearing registration number 09 D 24105. These plates were cloned from another Audi car. The correct registration number of the vehicle is 09 D 4472, this vehicle was stolen during the course of a burglary in Blanchardstown on Tuesday the 13th of March 2012.  The key was found close to where the vehicle was abandoned in Glen Gardens in Ennis.  Both men spoke with Dublin Accents.
