Murder of Noel Kirwan on the 22/12/16

The Gardaí at Ronanstown Garda Station are investigating the murder of sixty two year old Noel Kirwan that occurred at St. Ronan’s Drive, on December 22nd 2016 shortly after 5 pm.

Earlier that evening the victim and some family members went to a restaurant in the Sundrive road area of Dublin. After leaving the restaurant the victim dropped his partner’s daughter home before continuing on his journey, together with his partner that brought him to St. Ronan’s Drive.

Mr Kirwan had just driven his car into the driveway of a house and was still sitting in the driver’s seat. At this point a gunman walked into the driveway of the house and fired a number of shots, fatally wounding Noel.

The gunman was dressed in black hoody, with a scarf covering his face. He left the scene and went to a waiting white Peugeot Partner van registration number 10CE9834. The van left the scene via St. Ronans Avenue, Neilstown Road, before being abandoned and set alight at the rear of Neilstown Shopping centre.

Appeal:

• Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of St. Ronan’s Drive or St. Ronan’s Avenue in the hours prior to the murder of Noel Kirwan to come forward.

• Gardaí are appealing to information as to the whereabouts of the white Peugeot Van Registration number 10CE9834 prior to the murder to come forward.

• Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the Neilstown Shopping Centre area who may have seen the suspects exit the white Peugeot Van and make their escape to come forward.
