Community Engagement for European Political Community (EPC) and Informal meeting of EU Heads of State or Government
On 12 November, Dublin will also host The EPC meeting of Heads of State and Government from across Europe. This will be largest Heads of State and Government gathering that Ireland has ever hosted, with around 50 European leaders and heads of European and international organisations expected to attend.
On 13 November, Dublin will also host an Informal meeting of EU Heads of State or Government. The informal European Council Meeting brings together the leaders of EU Member States, joined by the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission. The European Council sets the EU's overall direction and political priorities.
These events will require significant security measures that are likely to impact residents and business owners in and around the Convention Centre and the National Gallery, as well as public transport users. An Garda Siochána is working to identify these definitive impacts and the NTA is actively planning delivery of public transport services where possible in order to facilitate public transport users.
The security measures will be in place at multiple locations in the days leading up to the events, impacting access and movement around parts of Dublin City. Wednesday 11 November, Thursday 12 November and Friday 13 November are likely to be the dates where you will experience most restrictions
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the public and to businesses, while policing these important events safely and successfully.
