Shooting incident Co. Dublin

Gardai in Swords are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a lay by on the Naul Road at the rear of Dublin Airport today (17.12.10) at approximately 1pm.

A dark coloured saloon type car pulled in to the lay by and a gunman got out of the passenger side. He fired a number of shots into the drivers side of the injured mans car which was parked. A male in his 40’s who was sitting in the car received injuries to his arm. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.

The Gunman is described as being 5’ 10’’ to 5’ 11’’ in height wearing a high visibility jacket and of normal build. He was wearing a see through mask over his face described as being an ice hockey type mask or visor.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses that may have travelled this stretch of road in and around 1pm and who may be able to assist the Gardai with their investigation to contact Swords Garda Station on 01 6664700, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
