Serious assault in Mullingar, Westmeath on the 4/12/10

Gardai in Mullingar are investigating a serious assault which occurred on the 4th December 2010.

At approximately 18.45 hours a 19 year old male was set upon and assaulted by a number of youths at Ginnell Terrace.

He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital and transferred to Beaumont where his condition is described as critical.

There have been no arrests to date and enquiries are ongoing.
