Proposed clearance of the M9 in Kildare on the 10/12/10

Following the recent inclement weather and subsequent remaining snow Kildare County Council and Kildare Gardaí will commence an operation on the M9 motorway, from 8am Friday on 10th December 2010, to clear remaining snow from all motorway lanes.

The operation will commence with the clearance of snow from the hard shoulders from Junction 2 to Junction 4 (M9) and then the remaining affected lanes during the day.  It is hoped that there will be a minimum effect on traffic movements but some restrictions may be necessary as the operation progresses.  Diversions are not planned and most work will be carried out during off peak periods.

Motorists are advised to be aware of this operation and to drive with extra care on the M9 on Friday, the 10th December 2010.  Further updates will be provided during the course of Friday 10th December 2010.
