Traffic Alert for the M7/N7 and Dublin on the 27/4/10

Gardai wish to provide the following update on the planned protest from Naas to Dublin City Centre today, the 27th April 2010.

It is expected a convoy of approximately 150 trucks will participate in the protest travelling up the M7 from Naas to the M50.

At the M50:

Approximately 40 of the trucks will travel though Kilmainham, St. Johns Road onto Heuston Station and up the quays to O’Connell Street.  (The remaining trucks will travel in convoy from Tallaght to the M1 and back).

At O’Connell Street:

A small number of passengers in the trucks will walk from O’Connell Bridge to Kildare Street, where they intend to hand in a letter of protest at the Dáil.

The trucks will continue back to Heuston Station along the quays and travel back to Tallaght to meet up with the remainder of the convoy.

The duration of the protest is expected to be between 9.30am and 1pm today. Garda will be in attendance and would request the travelling public to be conscious of this protest and plan their journeys accordingly.
