Court Appearance - Drugs worth €50k seized in Garda Operation in Dublin - 4th December 2020

A man in 20s arrested following the seizure of drugs worth in excess of €50k during a Garda operation in Ringsend on Friday, 4th December 2020 has been charged. He is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court at Court Number 4, CCJ at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, 7th December 2020.

A woman in her 20s arrested in the same operation has been released without charge, a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

As part of ongoing intelligence led operations targeting drugs distribution networks by An Garda Síochána in collaboration with Revenue Customs Service, a search operation was carried out in Ringsend by the Divisional Drugs Unit and local Garda units based in DMR South Central on Friday, 4th December 2020.

During the operation Gardaí searched an address in the Ringsend area under warrant. Illegal drugs were recovered including Diazepam pills (d10s) valued at €47,000 and Cannabis worth €6,000. The drugs will be forwarded to FSI for analysis.

A man and woman both aged in their 20s were arrested and are currently detained at Irishtown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.
