Man arrested for theft from shop & possession of heroin in Cork City on 08/08/18

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 40s and seized approximately €600 worth of suspected heroin following a theft from shop incident on Patrick Street, Co. Cork on the 8th August 2018.

At approximately 1:30pm Gardaí were called to a shop on Patrick Street as a man had attempted to steal a number of items. He was arrested and brought to Bridewell Garda Station.

Upon arriving at the Garda Station the man was searched and found in possession of €600 worth of suspected heroin (pending analysis).

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and has since been charged to appear before the courts at a later date.
