At approximately 1930 hours a male aged in his 20s was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving struck a street lighting pole at Homelawn Gardens, Tallaght.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The motorcycle involved in the incident was removed from the scene prior to the arrival of Gardaí. A search of the area is continuing and investigating Gardaí are appealing for information. Garda forensic collision investigators have completed a technical examination of the scene and the road has since reopened to traffic. The coroner has been notified
