Theft of Spirits in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 on the 14/11/14

Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary, which occurred at a warehouse in the Parkwest industrial Estate, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 on the 14th November 2014 between 3pm and 4pm.

Two employees were working at warehouse when two men entered the building armed with iron bars. They forced the employees to open the loading bay.  At least three more men arrived and the employees were tied up.
 

The raiders used two 40 foot trucks to steal a substantial amount of alcohol. Gardaí believe that this stolen alcohol will be offered for sale in the run up to Christmas.
 

The trucks left Parkwest between 4pm and 4.30pm, travelled along Killeen Road up to the junction of Nangor Road where they went left towards the Long Mile Road, turned right on to the Naas Road and headed in the direction of the Red Cow roundabout. It is not known whether the trucks travelled onto the M50 or continued out the N7 towards Naas.

The description of the trucks is as follows:

1. Red Cab with a bank of spotlights along the top of the cab, - with a white solid 40’tri-axle container. 
 

2. A  white Cab – with a 40’tri – axle trailer which had a blue curtain.

 
There was no distinctive markings on either of the trailers.

The stolen alcohol consists of:

• 2,580 Cases of Jameson Whiskey, each case being made up of 6  x bottles (700ml)

Each of the cases stolen has one of these three Batch numbers;  L428112153, L428312172, L428016141, with each bottle having a corresponding batch number on the rear of the label.

• Cases of Bombay Sapphire Gin, cases of 6 bottles (700ml)
No batch number available.

• Cases of Jack Daniels Whiskey, cases of 6 (700ml)
No batch number available.

 
Appeal:

Investigating Gardai are appealing to members of the public who have already been offered cases or bottles of Jameson Whiskey, Jack Daniels Whiskey and or Bombay Sapphire Gin from persons other than licensed suppliers of alcohol,

We are also appealing for information in relation to the two Tractor Units  and 40’ containers used- any sightings, any person who may have leased /hired out the tractor units / trailers, and to any person who has any information about this crime.
