Visit of HM Queen Elizabeth 11
The following streets in Cork City Centre will be closed to traffic on the 20th May 2011.
From 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs:
Tuckey Street, North Main Street, South Main Street, Copley Street, Union Quay.
Douglas Street has a one way system in operation from Langford Row Junction to Evergreen Street Junction for all traffic travelling in that direction during this time.
Also closed to traffic from 1000hrs to 1600 hrs are:
Batchelors Quay, Grenville Place, Grattan Street, Liberty Street, Adelaide Street, Kyle Street, Castle Street, Cornmarket Street, Paul Street.
Closed from 1200 hrs to 1600 hrs, Georges Quay, Sullivan’s Quay, South Terrace, Infirmary Road, Ruthland Street, White Street, Dunbar Street, Mary Street and Cobh Street.
There will be no access to the City Centre from the western suburbs via the Western Road. Traffic attempting to enter the city centre via this route will be diverted via Sundays Well Road or Wilton Road.
No parking will be allowed on Douglas Street or Sullivan’s Quay, from 1800 hrs on the 19th May 2011.
No traffic Restrictions Northside of the river Lee. All key junctions will be manned and if required traffic will be assisted.

Cork Airport:
On the 20th May 2011, Cork Airport and the surrounding areas will be affected by some Traffic Restrictions.
From 13.30 hrs on this date to 16.00hrs, the road from the Roundabout at the entrance to the Cork Airport to the Kinsale Road Roundabout will be subject to restrictions to both pedestrians and traffic at various times. This will have the effect of also restricting the traffic from all sideroads leading to this road during these particular times.
People are advised that their will be no parking on this road and the roads immediately surrounding the airport. No pedestrian viewing will be allowed.
It is important that people intending to travel via Cork Airport on this date plan their journey well in advance, and contact their carriers. Also be aware that if intending to travel between 13.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs on the 20th May 2011 please be at the airport prior to 13.00 hrs.
Garda Information relating to the Tipperary area for the Visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II:
Traffic Flow Restrictions M8 Motorway 16/05/2011 – 20/05/2011
From 12 noon on 16 May 2011 there will be traffic flow restrictions on the M8 motorway for a distance of 10 km from the Northern side of Junction 7 to the Southern side of Junction 9. The speed limit will be reduced to 100kmph by means of advisory traffic signs. All traffic will be reduced to one lane which will travel on the outside lane of the carriageways both northbound and southbound.
Appropriate VMS (Vehicle Message Signs) will be put in place on the northbound lane at Junction 10 Cahir (approx 5 km south of Cashel) and at the 2 km sign for Cashel. VMS signs will also be placed on the southbound lanes at Junction 6, Horse and Jockey, 5 km north of Cashel and at the 2 km sign for Cashel.

M8 Motorway:
From 6pm on Thursday the 19th May 2011, Junction 7 will be closed.
Access to Cashel will be via Junction 8 and Junction 9.
Junction 7 will re-open early in the afternoon of Friday 20th May 2011.
Cashel Town:
From 6pm on Thursday 19th May 2011 to 12 midday on Friday 20th May 2011 the following will apply:
Traffic access to Cashel will be restricted. Traffic may enter Cashel Town via:
Friar Street
Main Street
Cahir Road
Junction Exits 8 and 9 from the M8 Motorway.
No traffic will be allowed to proceed through Cashel at:
Ladyswell Street
Moore Lane
Rock Villa
Dominic Street
Boherclough Street
Lower Gate Street
Bank Place
Canopy Street
The Green to Wallers Lot
The Kiln
Mountjudkin Road
Camas Road
Circular Road
N8 (Old Dublin Road) from Junction 7 to Cashel town
Diversionary signs will be placed at all junctions and cordon points will be manned by Garda personnel to assist the public.
Fethard Town: 6pm Thursday 19th May to 2pm Friday 20th May 2011
On Thursday 19th May 2011 at 6pm the outer cordon restrictions will be put in place in Fethard which will allow for normal business to continue in Fethard.
A similar cordon will exist in Killenaule allowing normal business to continue in Killenaule also. Local roads will be diverted accordingly.
Junctions will be manned by Garda Personnel from 6pm on Thursday and diversionary signs will be in place.
Local traffic will be allowed to pass through with restrictions.
