Weather Press Release Dublin Area 6th November 2010

In advance of the expected worsening weather conditions An Garda Síochána is cooperating with the local authorities this weekend to put measures in place to ensure public safety.

We are making a direct appeal to all road users to pay particular attention to the weather conditions on Sunday night/Monday morning and to exercise care on the roads.

An Garda Síochána have developed traffic management plans around areas in the Dublin area identified by the local authorities as high risk for the worsening weather conditions this weekend.

Chief Superintendent Aidan Reid said “Motorists should obey any directions given to them by members of An Garda Síochána where traffic diversions are in place”.

We are also reminding the public that car parks on the seafront at Clontarf and Sandymount will be closed from Sunday morning until Monday evening.

Local road closures may also be implemented as required.

Motorists and property owners should ensure their vehicles and property are properly secured when unoccupied.
