Gardaí at Sundrive Road are investigating a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on the Crumlin Road at approximately 9.30am this morning, Wednesday 3rd November 2010.

A female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a male motorcyclist.  Both are currently in St. James's Hospital.

As a result there is severe traffic congestion occurring on the Naas, Longmile, Drimnagh and Crumlin Roads.

Traffic diversions are in place at The Childrens Hospital Crumlin at Kildare Road and all inbound traffic is being channeled right.

Outbound traffic is being diverted onto the Old County and Windmill Roads and ultimately onto Kildare Road.

The Crumlin Road is closed to facilitate a forensic and technical examination.

Anyone attending The Children's Hospital is asked to use the Keeper Road at the rear of Sundrive Garda Station which will bring them to the back of the hospital.

We are appealing to witnesses to the collision to contact us at Sundrive Road on  01 6666600.

In particular we are anxious to speak to the driver of a silver Peugeot car that stopped at the scene of the collision.
