Fatal road traffic collision Co Galway 7th November 2010

Gardai in Tuam, Co. Galway are investigating the circumstance of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N17 Tuam to Galway Rd this evening the 7th November 2010.

The collision occurred at approx. 7.45pm on the 7th November 2010 between a van and a bus. The collision occurred at Glenafosha which is about 3 miles outside Tuam on the Galway Rd N17. Two males (one in his early 60’s and the other in his 30’s) received serious injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. There was 27 passengers on the bus at the time of the collision, 10 people were taken to Galway University hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. There was no one else in the van at the time of the collision.

The road remains closed until tomorrow morning for a Forensic Collision examination, diversions are in place.
