Cash in Transit robbery in Nobber, Meath on the 10/11/10

Gardai in Nobber Co. Meath are investigating the circumstances of a Cash in Transit robbery in Nobber this morning the 10th November 2010.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.10am when cash was being delivered to the Post Office, Main Street, Nobber.


It is believed that a crew member from the van alighted and was entering the Post Office when he was confronted by a male who was carrying a gun.  The male made threats and forced the crew member to hand over a cash box.


He then left the scene in a small white van accompanied by another male.  Both suspects are believed to have been in possession of firearms.


They left the scene in the direction of Navan with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No shots were fired and no injuries were received.


The vehicle was subsequently found on fire at Whitewood Lake, Kilmainhamwood. It is believed that the suspects changed to a black car (not better described) at this location, which was believed to have been driven by a third accomplice.
