Fatal shooting at Priorswood, Coolock, Dublin on the 16/1/10 - Witness appeal

Gardai investigating the murder of a male (aged 27 years) are appealing to the public for assistance.

The shooting took place in a cul-de-sac on Ferrycarrig Road, Priorswood, Coolock at approximately 10.20 p.m. on Saturday 16th January, 2010.  There is a laneway that leads from this cul-de-sac to Macroom Road.

Gardai believe that many people passing through the area including taxi-drivers and people making takeaway food deliveries may have seen something unusual or suspicious.

The victim was socializing in the Priorswood Inn prior to the shooting incident and are asking patrons of this establishment to come forward and assist them.

Gardai are anxious to speak to anyone that was in the area around that time or prior to that time to come forward in confidence and contact them at the incident room which has been set up at Clontarf Garda Station 01-6664832 or the Garda Confidential line 1-800-666-111.

The body has been removed from the scene and the post mortem is scheduled to take place later today.
