Armed burglary in Templeogue, Dublin on the 3/2/10

Gardai at Terenure are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in which 4 armed raiders entered a house at Templeogue this morning, the 3/2/10 at approx 10 am.

They proceeded to tie up a couple in their mid-60's who were residing in the house and demanded money.


Uniform and detective Gardai from Terenure were alerted and arrived at the scene.


Two of the four males were arrested at the scene while the other two made their escape on foot.  One aged 35 years has been detained in Rathmines, the other aged 25 years in Terenure both under Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939.


The 2 residents were traumatized but unharmed in the incident.  A small amount of cash was taken.


The scene is being preserved for technical examination and the Air Support Unit has assisted in the search.
