Fatal road traffic collision at Charleville, Cork on the 16/3/09.

Gardaí at Mallow are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N20 at Pikes Cross, Ballyhea, Charleville, Co. Cork.

 

Gardaí at Mallow are investigating a two car fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 1am on the 16/3/09 on the N20 at Pikes Cross, Ballyhea, Charleville, Co. Cork.

The male drivers of both cars were killed in the collision and their bodies have been removed to Cork University Hospital.

They were aged 60 years and 36 years.

A female passanger in one car and a male passanger in the other received serious injuries. The female was taken to Mallow General Hospital and the male has gone to Cork University Hospital.

The road is closed at present and as it is the main Cork to Limerick road there are traffic implications so motorists are advised to use an alternative route if possible.

Forensic Crash Scene Investigators are at scene and diversions are in place.

Witnesses to this collision are asked to contact Gardaí at Macroom on 022 31450.
