Guidelines for the Reporting Of Suspected Fraudulent Insurance Claims (1/10/18)

An Garda Síochána has issued revised guidelines for the reporting of allegations of fraudulent insurance claims to An Garda Síochána by Insurance Entities. These guidelines have been drawn up and agreed between the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) and Insurance Ireland.

“Incidents of Insurance Claim Fraud have become more common in recent years and these revised guidelines are designed to provide support to, and assist Insurance Entities, when making allegations of Insurance Claim Fraud to An Garda Síochána,” said Detective Superintendent Gerard Walsh

“Insurance Ireland welcomes the publication of the revised reporting guidelines on fraudulent insurance claims. The revised guidelines will assist in the reporting of suspected fraudulent cases as part of the anti-fraud strategies being implemented by insurers and An Garda Síochána,” said Michael Horan, Non-Life Manager at Insurance Ireland.
