On Saturday 20th July 2019 the following event is taking place at Croke Park Stadium:

Stiles Opening: 15.30hrs    

Start Time: 17.00hrs: Cork V Tyrone (Senior Football)              

                 19.00hrs: Dublin V Roscommon (Senior Football)

Finish Time (approx): 21.00hrs

Expected Attendance: 35,000

On Sunday 21st July 2019 the following event is taking place at Croke Park Stadium:

Stiles Opening: 12.30hrs    

Start Time: 14.00hrs: Meath V Mayo (Senior Football)              

                 16.00hrs: Donegal V Kerry (Senior Football)

Finish Time (approx): 18.00hrs

Expected Attendance: 45,000

Public Transport:         

Persons attending should be aware: 

In conjunction with the transport agencies outlined Gardai are highlighting the many public transport options available to persons attending events at Croke Park stadium. 

All patrons travelling to Croke Park Stadium are strongly advised by all agencies involved in the management of the games to utilise public transport and the park and ride facilities. Croke Park stadium is serviced by Bus, Train and Luas transport facilities.

Coach Parking: 

There is sufficient on street coach parking on the south side of Croke Park stadium.

There are two advised routes for coaches travelling to and from the Croke Park stadium:

  1.  M.50 and via the Port Tunnel 
  2.  M11 via East Link Bridge.

Coach drivers are requested to travel directly to the south side of the stadium where patrons can then disembark. Coaches may park safely or depart and return for their passengers after the event finishes.

There is limited bus/coach parking facility at Mountjoy Square East and South. Parking here is on the park side of the street only. There will not be any facility for coach parking on Mountjoy Square North or West.  

Parking is on a first come first served basis. Comply with parking regulations.  Double parking of buses will not be permitted. Drivers are also requested to only turn engines when in a position to depart Mountjoy Square.  

There is a coach parking facility at Western Way (off Phibsboro Road). Drivers utilising this facility are also asked to comply with the above requirements. 

In addition coaches will not be permitted to drop off / pick up passengers on any of the arterial routes around Croke Park Stadium. This will be strictly enforced by the Garda Traffic Corps. 

In conjunction with the Transport Agencies, Gardaí are advising public transport use for patrons attending Croke Park Stadium.

Persons attending should be aware of traffic restrictions:

On street parking is very limited due to Croke Park being situated in a residential area. There will be strict enforcement of all illegal parking in the area by Gardai and Dublin City Parking Services. 

Patrons should be aware that illegally parked vehicles will be impounded or clamped and will be liable to a substantial fine. 

General Advice:

All patrons travelling to Croke Park Stadium for the event are advised to utilise public transport and the park and ride facilities. Croke Park stadium is serviced by bus, train and Luas transport facilities. Patrons who travel by road are advised to travel early to avail of the supervised parking facilities. 

There are two confirmed supervised car parks available in the vicinity of Croke Park.  

Drivers should be aware that illegally or improperly parked vehicles have the potential to cause traffic disruption, obstruction and difficulty to emergency vehicles that may need to access the narrow residential streets that surround Croke Park Stadium.   

      O’Connell’s School, North Richmond Street. Entry via North Circular Road. 

                    400 Spaces including special needs spaces.

      Clonliffe College Car park. Entry via Drumcondra Road  

                    2,000 spaces including Special Needs.

Persons with special needs requirements that had intended to use Clonliffe College should contact Croke Park at www.crokepark.ie for assistance.

No Traffic will be permitted to leave the car parks for a period after the games, in order to allow foot patrons leave the area safely. 

Drivers should be aware that illegally or improperly parked vehicles have the potential to cause traffic disruption, obstruction and difficulty to emergency vehicles that may need to access the narrow residential streets that surround Croke Park Stadium.   

Patrons should be aware that illegally parked vehicles will be impounded or clamped and will be liable to a Substantial fine. 

Patrons who have tickets for the Hogan and Davin Stands should approach from the west and north side of the stadium by using the M50 motorway to Navan Road, Finglas Road and Drumcondra Road. 

Patrons who have tickets for the Cusack Stand and Hill 16 should approach from the east and south side of the stadium by using the Port Tunnel and East Link Bridge. Dublin Port Tunnel will be open to all vehicles.   

After the game patrons will have the option of option of departing the Croke Park area via the  M50, to the (M2) Ashbourne Road, (M3) Navan Road, (M4) Lucan Road, (M7) Naas Road and (M11) Wexford Road.

Residents:

Patrons are requested to be aware that Croke Park is located in a residential area. Patrons attending Croke Park are requested to respect residents by behaving in an appropriate manner when going to and departing the stadium. Issues such as illegal parking, anti social behaviour, drinking and urinating in public cause difficulties and will not be tolerated by Gardai. Patrons are asked to desist from such behaviour. 

Special Needs Parking:

There are very limited special needs parking facilities on the public streets within the Croke Park cordon area. There are no special needs parking provided within Croke Park Stadium. Special needs parking is provided at the supervised car parks as outlined above.

Ticket Sales:

There are ticket sales for these events .Tickets can be bought online or at the Ticket offices at Gills Corner and Dorset Street. Please refer to www.crokepark.ie for details of ticket collection points for this event.

Pre Event Traffic Restrictions:

As with all events at Croke Park, a Garda Cordon will be in effect on the streets that lead to Croke Park. Only accredited vehicles will be permitted to pass by this cordon. All vehicles will be checked for accreditation.  

Local residents, their immediate families, local business community are in possession of passes and will be facilitated at the barriers. Passes however do not guarantee entry through the cordon where pedestrian volumes exist. 

As a guideline the full Garda cordon will be in place one hour prior to stiles opening time and one hour post event to enable match patrons to arrive and depart safely. 

Patron Search:

All patrons entering the Garda cordon will be the subject of a ticket check by Stewards and search by Gardaí. Any offensive articles, e.g. glass bottles, air horns, large flagpoles will be seized. Patrons are advised not to bring any unnecessary baggage with them and are advised to travel early to the stadium to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Public Order: 

Patrons are advised that the Gardaí will not permit the consumption of alcohol outside public houses, while walking along the street or in any other public place. Patrons are asked to have consideration for local residents and refrain from anti-social behaviour such as on street drinking and urinating etc. 

Crime: 

Patrons are advised to be aware of their own personal safety and security while attending the event. They should ensure the security of personal belongings while on route to and from the stadium i.e. purses/wallets/tickets/ mobile phones.

Patrons who arrive by vehicle should also ensure that property is not left exposed in parked vehicles. They should ensure that car windows, sunroofs are correctly closed. 

Croke Park Hotel Car Park: 

All residents of the Croke Park Hotel will be permitted entry subject to pedestrian presence at the time and are requested to access the hotel via North Circular Road / Russell Street junction (Gills Corner) where there will be a register of all guest vehicles.

Garda Safety Information for Croke Park Games:

In the interest of safety, measures may be implemented to prevent crowd congestion on Jones Road outside the Croke Park Hotel. 

Jones Road has become a meeting point / access to other areas for patrons attending Croke Park games.  The result of this is to seriously increase / interfere with the crowd flows resulting in pedestrian congestion in that area. 

Jones Road must be kept exclusively to facilitate exit from the Hogan Stand for a period of approx 30 minutes after the game ends.

Pre Game Crowd Management Plan:

In the interest of safety patrons are advised as follows:

1.      Not to enter the Jones Road / Russell Street unless they hold a Hogan / Nally / Premium Stand ticket.

2.      Not to congregate in vicinity of Croke Park Hotel as this causes a serious obstruction to crowd movement in that area. Gardai will move waiting persons in this area.

3.      Use coloured routes outlined on Croke Park websites to access the stadium.

4.      Arrange meeting points at a distance away from Jones Road.

Post Game Crowd Management  Plan: 

In the interest of safety patrons are advised as follows: 

1.       Patrons exiting the Hogan Stand / Nally / Premium Stands will be directed to exit by a planned route as they leave these stands onto Jones Road. (Subject to attendance)

2.      Patrons are further requested not to congregate in vicinity of Croke Park Hotel as this causes a serious obstruction to crowd movement in that area.  Gardai will move waiting persons in this area.

3.       Patrons exiting via Clonliffe Road are asked by Gardai not enter onto Jones Road.  Patrons exiting via North Circular Road are asked by Gardai not enter onto Russell Street.

4.      Arrange meeting points at a distance away from Jones Road. 

The result of patron participation and compliance will result in a safer entry and exit from the stadium for all patrons and children and make the stadium environs a safer place for all people.

Q: Can I bring a backpack or large bag to a match in Croke Park?

Backpacks and large bags are not allowed into Croke Park for matches, only small bags measuring no bigger than A4 (8.27in/21cm × 11.7/ 29.7cm) will be permitted into the stadium. 

Q: Will my bag be searched before entering Croke Park?

Bags may be searched on entry to the match and to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag.
Please allow plenty of time to get into the stadium, and for match entry procedures, ticket checks and searches, we would advise arriving at the stadium at least 1 hour before throw-in.

Q: Can I bring a plastic bag into Croke Park?

Plastic bags are allowed into Croke Park for matches, but must measure no bigger than A4 (8.27in/21cm × 11.7/ 29.7cm) in size and may be searched on entry to the match. To avoid lengthy queues, we strongly advise you do not bring a bag.

Q: Is there anywhere I can leave a backpack or large bag while attending a match in Croke Park?

Q: What other searches may take place?

You may also be searched at the entrance to Croke Park which may include a full body pat down and/or use of hand held metal detectors. Any item(s), which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon, or which may cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event, will be confiscated.
Please note that confiscated items cannot be returned once the patron has entered the ground.
Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the stadium or other parts of the site may be searched.

Q: What items are prohibited from Croke Park on match days?

Patrons should note that the bringing of alcohol, fireworks, smoke canisters, bottles, glasses, cans, flags, banners, poles, distress signals, laser pointers, selfie sticks and other similar articles or containers, including anything which could or might be used as a weapon is strictly prohibited.

Q: What if I do not consent to be searched on my way into Croke Park?

If a person does not wish to give consent for a search to take place, Croke Park have a right to refuse admission. This stadium policy is endorsed and supported by An Garda Síochána who will always be in the vicinity of the stadium’s designated search areas. Any complaint or issue should be notified to the Gardaí on the day.
Signage is clearly displayed where searches are located and the policy and exact procedure are explained clearly by trained search teams, who are in place on the day before any search commences.

Q: Can I still bring a child’s buggy into Croke Park?

We would not recommend bringing a baby buggy to Croke Park. Baby buggies may be permitted entry but must be left at the back of the stands and are left there entirely at the owner’s risk.

Q: Can I still bring a medical bag with me into Croke Park?

Please notify security at the gates in advance of being searched that you are carrying such items as bags may be searched on entry to the match. Further assistance from one of our team of special needs stewards may also be requested if needed. Please allow plenty of time to get into the stadium, and for match entry procedures, ticket checks and searches, we would advise arriving at the stadium at least 1 hour before throw-in.
