FW: Munster Senior Hurling Championship Tipperary V Clare at Semple Stadium

Garda Traffic Management Plan

A comprehensive Garda Traffic Management Plan will be in operation to cater for the Munster Senior Hurling Fixture, Tipperary V Clare, 16th April, 2026 scheduled for FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles at 7pm.  Event will be preceded by Munster Camogie Final, Tipperary V Waterford at 4:45pm

Significant traffic disruption is expected in Thurles and on all approach roads.

Travel Advice

Patrons are strongly advised arrive in plenty of time and consider routes prior to travel.

Suggested routes include:

  1. M8 – Cashel – Holycross – Thurles
  2. M8 – Exit 6 (Horse and Jockey) - Thurles
  3. M8 – Exit 5 (Twomileborris) – Thurles
  4. M8 – Cahir – N24 to Tipperary – Dundrum – Holycross – Thurles
  5. M7 – Moneygall – Dunkerrin -Templemore– Thurles
  6. M7 – Roscrea – Templemore – Thurles
Nenagh – Borrisoleigh – Thurles (R498) - SEVERE DELAYS TO BE EXPECTED ON (R498) DUE TO ROADWORKS – PLEASE USE ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

After Game Traffic Management

Priority will be given to patrons exiting the Stadium on foot after the games.

Traffic congestion and delays are to be expected.

Illegally Parked Vehicles

Vehicles found illegally parked will be towed away to the Garda Compound and will not be released until the statutory expenses (€125.00) have been paid. In addition a prosecution could be instituted against the driver / owner of the vehicle concerned.

Security:

The Gardai appeal to all motorists to:

  1. Secure and lock their vehicles.
  2. Leave no valuables on display.
  3. Park in supervised car parks.
  4. Pick Pockets – beware of your wallet, money and A.T.M/Credit Cards. Leave your wallet at home if possible. Do not carry large sums of cash.
  5. Alcohol, Claxton Air Horns and Vuvuzelas will not be allowed into Semple Stadium.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, follow Garda instructions, plan their journey in advance and allow extra time for both arrival and departure.
