Drug seizure and arrests Co. Cork 19th October 2015

On the 19th October 2015 as part of intelligence led operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service based in Dublin and Cork, Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Cork Divisional Drugs Unit, a search was carried out at a premises in Cobh, Co. Cork.

During the operation Cocaine with an estimated value of €56,000 (pending analysis) was seized. It’s understood the drugs originated in Johannesburg.
Three males (ranging in age from 30 to 45 years) were arrested and are currently detained at Cobh Garda Station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. (They can be detained for up to 7 days.)
Investigations are continuing and further updates will follow.
