Two males arrested - Fatal Shooting of Peter Butterly at Gormanston, Meath on the 6/3/14th March 2013 -

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of Peter Butterly at Gormanston, Co. Meath on the 6th March 2013 have arrested two males (aged in their 40's and 50's).

They were arrested this morning and are being detained at Kells Garda Station under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting at Gormanston, Co. Meath on the 6th March 2013 have released a second man from custody.  The man in his early 40s was released this afternoon 9th March and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. 
 
The remaining three men will be charged this evening Saturday 9th March, 2013 at 7.30p.m. at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court.

Shortly after 2p.m. on 6th March, a man aged in his 30s was shot a number of times. The assailants fled the scene in a car which was intercepted by Gardaí on the Balscadden Road a short time later.

Four men were arrested. A firearm (handgun) was recovered and the car was seized. A fifth man was arrested near to the scene a short time later.
