Incident at Leinster House, Dublin on the 29/4/14

Gardai in Pearse Street have arrested a male (19yrs) on suspicion of possession of Offensive weapon at Leinster House on the 29th April.

The incident occurred at approximately 4.30pm, the male was arrested on the front plinth of Leinster House (Kildare Street side).

He was taken to Pearse Street Garda Station and is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.  He was arrested in possession of offensive weapons.

No one was injured in the incident.
