Fatal road traffic collision at Belcarra, Mayo on the 9/11/11

Gardai are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occured at Belcarra about 10km outside Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

The accident occured at 7am this morning, the 9th November 2011.

A man in his 20's, the driver and sole occupant of a car, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His body has been removed to Mayo General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The road at the scene is closed pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
