Drug Seizure and arrest in Monaghan on the 19/11/11

As a result of an ongoing operation, targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Monaghan area, Gardaí stopped and searched a truck at Lismeenan, Castleshane, yesterday evening Saturday 19th November, shortly before 6pm.

Herbal cannabis with a potential street value of €500,000 was seized - amount subject to verification by further analysis.

A 33 year old man was arrested at scene and is presently detained at Monaghan Garda Station under Section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act.
