Shooting incident at Smithfield, Dublin on the 6/3/11 - Arrest

Gardaí from the Bridewell Garda Station investigating an incident in Smithfield, Dublin on the 6th March 2011 arrested a male juvenile in Dundalk yesterday morning (27/3/11)

He is being detained at Store Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Gardai at the Bridewell are investigating all the circumstances following a firearm incident in the Smithfield area of Dublin this morning, the 6th March 2011 at approximately 11.30am.

Two males (no ages currently available) received injuries that are not thought to be life threatening. They have been taken Hospitals in the City centre.

In addition a suspect device was found in the area and Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team are currently at the Bridewell Garda Station.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this incident or to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact the Bridewell Garda Station on 01-6668200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
