Serious assault on Ballymun, Dublin on the 17/3/11 - Further Update

A post mortem was carried out today, the 19th March 2011 by the assistant State Pathologist Dr. Curtis on the body of Joseph Connolly (48yrs) Knowth Court, Ballymun, who died following an incident on the Ballymun Road on Thursday, the 17th March 2011.

The results of the post mortem have been supplied to the investigation team and investigations are ongoing.
                        

A number of people have been interviewed in connection with the incident.
 

Gardai would like to thank witnesses for coming forward and are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them in Ballymun on 01 6664400 or any Garda station.

The man critically injured following an assault in Ballymun yesterday was pronounced dead this afternoon.

A Press Briefing will be held at Ballymun Garda Station at 4.30pm today, the 18/3/11..

Gardaí at Ballymun, Dublin are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault which occurred on the Ballymun Road outside a Pharmacy at approximately 9pm on Thursday, the 17th March 2011.

It is understood that up to two men were involved in the assault.  A 48 year old man received serious injuries and is described as critical in Beaumont Hospital.
