Drugs factory discovered Tipperary

As the result of an ongoing operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis plants in the Tipperary Division Gardaí at Borrisokane searched a business premises on Main Street in the early hours of yesterday morning, Saturday 9th April 2011.

In excess of 1,500 cannabis plants were discovered as well as a quantity of cannabis herb.

The combined potential street value of this seizure is approximately €900,000.

The premises had been renovated into a spohisticated cannabis growing factory and extensive lighting/heat and ventilation systems had been installed. Incubation and potting rooms were also in situ.

A large amount of cultivation paraphernalia was found on the premises.

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
