Gardai have seized firearms and ammunition along with arresting 5 people following an intelligence lead operation in Dublin on the 14th October 2010.
As part of the ongoing investigation into serious crime in the North inner city area of Dublin planned searches were carried out by the Organised Crime Unit (with support from the Emergency Response Unit) in the Cabra area of Dublin city yesterday evening, the 14th October.
Four men and one woman were arrested and are in custody in Store Street, Finglas and Mountjoy Garda Stations. They range in age from their early 20's to late 40's, and are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
As a result of the searches two firearms (subject to technical examination) and ammunition were seized.
