Arrest and witness appeal Coolock incident

Gardai in Coolock investigating a serious assault on a Polish national at Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock on the 2nd of October 2010, last night the 2nd October 2010 arrested a male in his 20’s.

He is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended in Swords Garda station.

The injured man’s condition is described as critical.

Again Gardai would like to renew their appeal, they are appealing for anyone who was on the Malahide Road(between The Hilton Hotel and Darndale Roundabout) or anyone who was in the Newtown Industrial Estate between 4 a.m and 5 a.m.. on Saturday the 2nd of October 20101,to contact them at Coolock Garda Station on 01 666 4200. 

We would particularly like to speak to delivery persons, taxi drivers or anyone who had business in the industrial estate in the early hours of the morning.

Coolock Gardai are investigating an incident at Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock on the 2nd of October 2010.  A  27 year old man, who is believed to be a  polish national, his was discovered on the roadway in the industrial estate with serious injuries. The man was on his way to work in nearby premises. Gardai were notified at about 5am on the 2nd of October 2010

He was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he is believed to be in a critical condition. The scene in preserved for technical examination and Garda investigation in under way.
