Lt. General Dermot Earley RIP - Funeral arrangements

Lt. General Dermot Earley will repose at St Brigid's Church, The Curragh Camp, The Curragh, Co. Kildare from 1pm to 7pm on Friday 25th June 2010.

He will be removed from St Brigid's Church and brought to St. Conleth's Parish Church, Naas Road, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, to arrive at 8.30pm.
 

The funeral mass will take place at 11am on Saturday, the 26th June 2010 at St Conleth's Parish Church and burial afterwards to St Conleth's Graveyard, Athgarvan Road, Newbridge.
 

The funeral mass and burial will be carried out by the Defence Forces with full Military Honours.
 

Traffic Restrictions:
 

The removal and funeral of the late Lt. General Dermot Earley is expected to drawn large attendances at the following locations:

­        St. Brigid's Church, The Curragh Military Camp, the Curragh, Co. Kildare

­        Newbridge Town and its immediate environs

­        St Conleth's Parish Church, Naas Road, Newbridge

­        St Conleth's Graveyard, Athgarvan Road, Newbridge.

­        All National, Secondary, routes around the Newbridge, Kildare and Naas towns.
 

All persons wishing to attend the funeral are advised to allow extra time in travelling to / from the Newbridge area on Friday, the 25th and Saturday, the 26th June 2010.
 

Friday 25th June 2010
 

Diversions will be on place and will be managed by Gardaí on point duty at key junctions.
 

Road closures

­        From 7pm to 8pm (approx) the road between the Curragh Roundabout and Brownstown cross will be closed. (This is the Road through the Curragh Military Camp).

­        From 7.30pm to 8.30pm (approx) Edward Street, Newbridge will be closed to allow the funeral travel to St Conleth's Parish Church, Naas Road, Newbridge.

­        From 8pm to 9pm (approx) the Naas Road from the Liffey Bridge, Newbridge to Wyeth Roundabout will be closed.
 

Saturday 26th June 2010
 

Diversions will be on place and will be managed by Gardai on point duty at key junctions. There will be no general through traffic in Newbridge Town until mid afternoon.  Diversions will be around Newbridge, all will be sign posted and controlled by Gardaí.  Some road closures may be rolling due to traffic volumes and the funeral parade.
 

Road closures

­        From 10am to 1pm (approx) the Naas Road from the Liffey Bridge, Newbridge to Wyeth Roundabout will be closed.  Only traffic attending the funeral or residents will be allowed through.

­        From 12.30pm to 2.30pm (approx) the Kilcullen Road from Athgarvan Village to Royston, Newbridge will be closed.

­        From 12pm to 1.30pm (approx) the Athgarvan Road from Liffey Bridge to Cutlery Road will be closed.


Parking Facilities:
 

There will be no parking facilities in the car park or the immediate vicinity of St. Conleth's Parish Church, Naas Road, Newbridge.
 

Parking will be available in Newbridge Town Centre, the Bord Na Mona Car Park, and public car parks in Newbridge for traffic coming from the South.
 

Traffic from the Naas Road direction can use parking facilities at Newbridge College field off the Wyeth Roundabout on the Naas Road, Newbridge.
 

St. Conleth's Parish Church is located near the Newbridge town centre.
 

All persons attending this funeral are urged to allow extra travel time to Newbridge and abide by the directions of Gardai on duty.
