An Garda Síochána understands that taxi drivers plan to congregate at the following locations at 12 noon and to simultaneously continue on into Merrion Square.
Gardaí are warning motorists that traffic congestion may be encountered around lunch time on Thursday 5th March 2009 in the vicinity of Merrion Square.

Airways Retail Park Swords
Liffeyvalley Shopping Centre
Stillorgan Shopping Centre
It is estimated that they will leave the above 3 locations at 12.30pm and arrive in Merrion Square at 1.30pm.
They intend to protest at Government Buildings for approximately an hour.
Parking restrictions will be in place in Merrion Square, Fitzwilliam Street upper and Lower on the morning of the 5/3/09 and will be in place until after this protest.
Gardaí will be monitoring the protest and would request the travelling public to be mindful of possible delays and plan accordingly.
