I am looking to make a freedom of information request for data held by An Garda Síochána in accordance with Freedom of Information Act, 2014.

The data I am looking for is in relation to resignation numbers over the last five years including, 2025.

I am conducting a study on voluntary resignations from An Garda Síochána over the past five years as part of my dissertation and I wish to make the following request under the Freedom of Information Act for information which is essential to assist with my study.

To ensure that the data I obtain is accurate, voluntary resignations should only include individuals who have resigned voluntarily and should not include figures for retirements, discharges due to ill health or dismissals.

The information I am requesting is as follows:

1. A breakdown of voluntary resignations from An Garda Síochána in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
(Please include the total number for each period and data on these individuals rank, service at the time of resignation and what Division they were stationed in.

I understand there was a previous FOI request for similar data (FOI-000130-2025) but the numbers for 2025 were not complete at the time of the request.
