Career Highlights: 

Darragh McNally joined the Senior Leadership Team of An Garda Síochána in March 2026 having previously worked in leadership positions across the manufacturing, defence, public transport, and healthcare sectors.  

Mr McNally joined An Garda Síochána from Bon Secours Health System where he was Chief Information Officer during a period of growth and expansion for the organisation.

Mr McNally previously served as a Commissioned Officer in the Communication and Information Services Corps in the Irish Defence Forces, working in senior leadership roles both at home and overseas with the United Nations.

Qualifications:

Mr McNally holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University College Dublin, and a MSc in Communications Technology Management from Institute of Technology Carlow.  

Mr McNally is a Chartered Engineer in (CEng) in the field of IT & Telecommunications accredited by the Institute of Engineer’s Ireland. In addition, he holds a number of industry certifications including Certificate in Data Protection Practice (Law Society of Ireland), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP - ISC2) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM - ISACA).
