Witness appeal – Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, Co. Leitrim- Sunday 17th May 2026

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, Co. Leitrim on Sunday 17th May 2026.

Shortly before 11:00pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to a single vehicle collision involving a tractor on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, Co. Leitrim.

A male driver (aged in his 60s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The local coroner has been notified.

The road remains closed and the scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.   Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling on the L3355 between 10:30pm and 11:00pm on Sunday 17th May 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
