Renewed Witness Appeal: Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Birchhill, Co. Donegal, 16th May 2026

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the N15 in Birchhill, Co. Donegal on Saturday 16th May 2026.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident, involving two vehicles, shortly after 2:00pm.

Two men in one vehicle (aged in their 20s and 30s) were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other occupants of that vehicle (a man and a woman in their 20s) were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Two occupants in the other vehicle (a man and a woman in their 40s), were brought to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1:30pm and02:30pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anybody who was at the scene who has not yet spoken with Gardaí is asked to make contact.

Investigations are ongoing.
