27/05/2026 Joint Operation - Gardaí and Revenue Customs Service Seizes €4.2 million Cannabis- 26th May 2026

Yesterday Tuesday 26th May 2026 as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue Officers seized 210 Kilograms of suspected Cannabis Herb, with an estimated value of approximately €4,200,000, in Co. Clare.

This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Clare Divisional Drug Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.

One male (aged in his 40s) was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained in a Garda Station in County Clare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
