On Tuesday, 12th May 2026, Gardaí in Offaly assisted Revenue Customs Service during a search operation at a business premises in Co. Offaly. During the course of the search, Revenue Customs Officers seized €1.2 million worth of cigarettes.
Following enquiries by Gardaí, a follow-up search operation was conducted under warrant at two premises in Edenderry, Co. Offaly on Wednesday 13th May 2026. Local Gardaí were assisted by the Offaly Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Officers.
Items seized included a number of cannabis-infused jellies and chocolate, THC and HHC vapes and suspected cannabis herb. The estimated value of drugs seized is up to €100,000, pending further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland. Cash to the value of €4,000 was also seized by Gardaí.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Investigations are ongoing.
