Court Appearance- €80,000 worth of illegal drugs seized, Athy, Co. Kildare - 17th May 2026
On Saturday 16th May 2026, Gardaí conducted a search at a residential premises in Athy, Co. Kildare resulting in the seizure of approximately €60,000 of cannabis and €20,000 worth of cocaine. Approximately €8,500 euro was also seized.
Two men (one in his 20s and another in his 30s) were arrested by Gardaí attached to the Kildare South Drug Unit.
Both arrested males were conveyed to Newbridge Garda Station where they were detained for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
They have since been charged in relation to this investigation and are due to appear before Naas District Court on Monday 18th May 2026 at 10:30am.
Investigations are ongoing.
