On Monday 11th May 2026 Revenue officers at Shannon Airport seized approximately 31kg of suspected herbal cannabis. The seized drugs have an estimated value of €620,000.
One male (aged in his 30s) and one female (aged in her 40s) were arrested by Gardaí attached to the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit.
They were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Clare-Tipperary Division.
They have since been charged in relation to this investigation and are due to appear before Ennis District Court on Wednesday 13th May 2026 at 10:30am.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
