Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Carrigans Park, Donamon, Co. Roscommon, this morning, Sunday 31st May 2026.
The collision, involving a car, is believed to have occurred early this morning.
The male driver and sole occupant of the car (aged in his 60’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been conveyed to the mortuary at Galway University Hospital. A postmortem examination will take place in due course.
The coroner has been notified.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of Carrigans Park, Donamon, Co. Roscommon, this morning, Sunday 31st May 2026 - between 5:00am and 9:00am - are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
