28/05/2026 Cross Border Day of Action Targeting Online Fraud , An Garda Síochána, National Crime Agency, Arrests 26th & 27th May 2026

On Tuesday 26th May 2026, Gardaí attached to the Kilkenny Detective Unit conducted a day of action targeting online fraud connected to a money laundering network.

Gardaí searched a number of properties in Counties Donegal, Longford, and Louth. During the course of the operation Gardaí seized £174,000 (sterling), €7000, a motor vehicle and a number of items of evidential value.

Two adults males (aged in their 30s and 60s) were arrested and are currently under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Garda Station in Co. Kilkenny.

On Wednesday 27th May 2026 the National Crime Agency (NCA) arrested 3 males (aged in their 40s, 40s and 60s) and one female (aged in her 30s) in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone in connection with this investigation.

Investigations are ongoing.
