Update (5) – Arrests: Fatal Assault, Birdhill, Co. Tipperary, 21st March 2026

Gardaí continue to investigate a fatal assault which occurred on the R494 at Birdhill, Co. Tipperary on Saturday 21st March 2026 shortly before 5:30pm.  

Gardaí have arrested two men (aged in their late 40s and late teens respectively) in connection with this fatal assault, this morning, Tuesday 28th April 2026.  

They’re being detained at Garda Stations in Co. Tipperary under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.  

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the family of the deceased.

Investigations are ongoing.
